Give us the ability to support them in every way we can. God, there is only so much that we can do to support our friend in their sickness. Jesus Christ, please be compassionate on my friend and be their great supporter.
If it is not Your will, God, I ask that You give them comfort in this news. God, I ask that if it is Your will that You heal them regardless of what doctors say.
PRAYERS FOR THE SICK HOW TO
God, they are confused, hurting, and unsure of how to move forward. Amen.įather, I have a friend who just found out that there is no cure for their sickness. Redeem them, God, and let them find truth in You. Let them know that there is nothing they can do that can separate them from You. And God, I ask that You reassure my friend that this is not their fault. I pray that You be their encouragement in this time of hurt. I ask, God, that You be their hope even though they feel like all is hopeless. Amen.įather, my friend is sick and thinks that this illness is their fault and is proof that they let You down. Encourage him/her and heal him/her, Lord. I ask that You act in his/her life today. Lord, there is so little I can do to help him/her, but there is an unending amount that You can do. God be the strength in his/her weakness, the hope in his doubt, the comfort in his/her strength. Please be with my friend in his/her illness. Good and Gracious God, I lift my friend to You today. Be with my friend and help us trust in Your promise always. While there is sometimes embarrassment in asking You for small favors, God, there is nothing too little for You to care because You love us. My friend is coming down with a bad cough, and I ask that You take it away. Lord, You allow us to come to You in times of small needs and great needs. Only You can restore them the way they need. Please intervene in the sickness and bring Your restoration. God, even in my anger, please heal my friend. I do not understand why they have to suffer in this way and why You will not take that suffering away. I have prayed to You countless times asking You to heal my friend and their sickness. Amen.Īlmighty God, I come to You in anger and frustration. Help their body stay strong and give their immune system all the strength it needs to fight off any cold or flu that is trying to come.
I pray that You breathe Your breath into them and rid them of any sickness that is coming and trying to take over. They are feeling under the weather and need Your strength.
Heavenly Father, I ask that You give relief and healing to my friend today. Be his/her strength and be his/her healing. Make him/her new in You and fill him/her with new life. Lord Jesus, please provide the strength he/she needs to get through this sickness. I ask that You help him/her remember to come to You at this time and ask for Your assistance, help, and healing. Jesus, I pray for the healing of my friend. But God, You know, and because You do, I don’t have to. I don’t even know what I need to be asking You or what sort of relief I want You to bring them. The medication, the doctors, the pain-there is so much I will never understand. God, I cannot imagine what my sick friend is going through. Rid him/her mind of the darkness and emptiness. But God, if You are willing, please heal my friend and give him/her hope. God, I know that You don’t have to, and You might not. God, help them know that this is real and valid and help them know that You can make it better. So many people around them do not believe that it is a real sickness because they cannot see the physical ramifications of it, and this is hurting my friend’s recovery. Lord, please heal my friend of this depression.
